I'm finding inspiration for Urban Legends in a lot of different places. Mostly literary.
This list right now is:
Authors:
Agatha Christie
Arthur Conan Doyle
HP Lovecraft
Dean Koontz
Stephen King
Brian Lumley
The Brother's Grimm (not the movie)
Bram Stroker
Mary Shelley
Mark Twain (What? I thought Huckleberry Finn was scary)
There are others but I think these are the strongest influences on the plots I'm considering now. Should be fun.
Some of the influences will be more obvious than others. We'll see where it goes.
The goal after all is to have the players walk away from the session less tense than they began, wanting the next one and too tired to continue with this one. Sort of like really good sex with the best of partners, only without the touching and the mess.
